Stopping to check a map (we were losing confidence in the on-board navigation computer, affectionally named "Helga"), in the distance you can see the relationship between Neuschwanstein (on the side of the mountain in the upper left) and Hohenschwangau Castle (rust-colored, just above the trees to the right of the barn.) Ludwig II was raised in Hohenschwangau. Later, Germany's first telephone was the line between the two castles.
